There’s one thing about Biff— he’s not lazy.” This quote is very important because it is one of the first lines that shows the reader what kind of character Willy really is. By the quote, you could tell that Willy believes in hard work and how that’s the only way one could become successful. The author uses a confident and strong tone to show that Willy knows what he is talking about, or at least he thinks he does.

This quote doesn’t only show where the setting is, but how Willy feels about the place itself. It’s obvious that Willy isn’t content living there and wishes that they could live somewhere else. Willy seems to be really distraught by the fact that he is not able to move. The author wrote it like that to show his annoyance with the over-population of New York. This quote gives off a very angry and negative tone in order to show that Willy is very discontent because of the place he lives
