Everyone in the world has some some reflection of family in their life , whoever they are, make a big impact on each others lives everyday. This quote is closely related to the novel Make Lemonade by Virginia E Wolff because the characters are grounded, and assembled because of family; family shapes the characters. LaVaughn ─ a diligent girl─ takes a babysitting job to Jolly’s small dysfunctional family to earn money for college. LaVaughn gets attached to the family, and learns some important life lessons along the way. The characters pasts shape their attitude. First, LaVaughn had a good childhood, which shaped her attitude because she had role models who showed dedication and time. Family means a lot to LaVaughn, and if she didn’t have it in her life she many not be who she is or want what she wants. She learns so many different things about herself; and finding a new understanding of life. She realizes what is good and what is not so good. Now, it is clear that LaVaughn’s family shapes LaVaughn and her journey through everything that comes ahead of her. Many people today -- no matter who it might be -- do not have an adult figure to look up upon. They might not have a good model that will guide them to get the most out of life.
