In the Malcolm X Biography, by People Magazine, the author details the life of Malcolm X, a civil rights activist and spiritual man. He was born as Malcolm Little on May 19, 1925 as the son of a preacher and faced racial prejudice during his youth. Malcolm’s father was found dead in 1931 and afterwards his mother was submitted to a mental hospital, leaving Malcolm to live with family. At school, he was the sole African American and did very well, but his future hopes were crushed by his teacher, who told him that he could never amount to anything and to set his goals low. After this, he dropped out of school and became involved in drugs and was soon arrested and imprisoned, during which he educated himself by reading consistently. He changed
