Teams are one way for organizations to gather input from members, and to provide organization members with a sense of involvement in the pursuit of organizational goal. Contemporary business organizations increasingly construct their work around teams because teams lead to the raising of both quality and quantity of their product or services. Also most of the employees would rather work in teams looking to enhance their skills as a long life career path (Stewart, Manz, & Sims, 1999). Teams are different than a group, “A group is normally defined as two or more people who interact in some way, teams are usually thought of as groups with shard commitments and goals”(Stewart, et al., 1999, p. 3). Similarly Katzenbach and Smith states that “team is a small number of people with complementary skills who are committed to a common purpose, set of goals, and approach for which they hold themselves mutually accountable” (Katzenbach & Smith, 2008, p. 5). likewise,” Teamwork relies upon individuals working together in a cooperative environment to achieve common team goals through sharing knowledge and skills” (Fisher, Hunter, & Macrosson, 1997). On the other hand, Tuckman reviewed fifty-five articles in 1965 and proposed a model identifying four sequential stages of group development resulting in effective group functioning (Tuckman & Jensen, 2012).These four stages include forming, storming, norming and performing. In 1977,Tuckman and Jensen added a fifth stage, the adjourning stage, to the original model (Tuckman & Jensen, 2012). Moreover, teamwork can be found in many place like manufacturing sector, management sector, healthcare sector, sport sector, wholesale and retail sector, services sectors, construction sector and education sector. In facts, teamwork have six major types: informal teams, traditional teams, problem solving teams, leadership teams, self-directed teams, and virtual teams (Newell, 2012). Also, Teamwork has different styles of team’s player each style contributes in different ways to success the team. Parker proposed four style: contributor, collaborator, communicator and challenger (Parker, 2008).In fact, team work has many advantages like enhancement the productivity in the workplace, improvement of service quality, greater satisfaction of employees with jobs, less absence, and reduced turnover rate (Sheng, Tian, & Chen, 2010). However, team has some common problem like communication and leadership style (Fisher, et al., 1997). This essay will discuss how team work can be the most rewarding way of doing things but at other times team-work can be frustrating, riddled with conflict and even counterproductive.

The first advantage of team work is the enhancement of productivity and quality for the product or services. Team work was a business innovation in 1990s helping companies achieve higher productivity and improve services, which lead to customer satisfaction. This satisfaction will expanded the market share and reflected directly on company revenues , by providing a link between implementing team work and the increasing of corporate value (Wisner & Feist, 2001). Moreover, teams become “ a way to continuous improving the productivity and the quality which is it the most important element of competitiveness in business therefore teams seen as critical element in total management quality (TMQ)" (Stewart, et al., 1999, p. 10). In fact, productivity is a key issue for survival and success in the long term for any Organisation life. In an economic sense, labor, capital, and management which are integrated into a production system resulting in good quality and higher productivity. Team work is a tool which will improve Management and Organization productivity (Chinda, 2010).
