Both in middle school and high school, I had an unchanging and almost necessary elective known as Concert Band. There exist two types of bands; Concert band and Marching Band. In Concert Band, you played an instrument and based on which you play, you could receive the melodic material or the accompaniment. Marching Band, however, has elevated difficulty. Making you march and play simultaneously. The marching instruments could be the same instrument, an alternate form of the instrument, or a secondary instrument if you play a concert instrument which cannot march.
