Marco Rubio The role of Hispanic Americans in shaping the state of Florida today is quite pronounced. One of the most notable Hispanic Americans in recent memory is Marco Rubio. Marco Rubio can be acknowledged for not only being one of the prime republicans in this past election, but also as a succesful senator. Moreover, Marco Rubio has truly presented the HispanicAmerican community in an honorable way. He has fought for human rights, and his election was surprising to many Americans. These are two of the many accomplishements of the state senator Marco Rubio. Marco Rubio can be noted for his fight for human ights. Rubio was a little-known republican candidate that had a small group of followers however, the race had changed in an instant. The leading candidate for the republican party, Charlie Crist, had disengaged with the republican party, declaring himself an independant, this changed the election, and Rubio’s results, greatly. Rubio had practicall gained followers overnight, during the election, Marco Rubio won in a landslide with 48.9% of the vote with Charlie Crist only gainig 29.7% of the results. Marko Rubio had won by nearly one-fifth of the results(Rubio’s Top 5 Accomplishments). Over the many years that Florida has been a state, there have been many influences, and many of them have been Hispanic Americans. The amount of Hispanic Americans and their role in shaping Florida is simply astounding. Marco Rubio is a prime example of the influence of Hispanic Americans in the state of Florida, the amount that he has done to represent and bring a new light to the Hispanic American community is noteable to say the least. Marco Rubio can be seen as a role-model and a key part of shaping Florida into what it is today
