“The Children’s Era” speech was given by Margaret Sanger in New York City, 1925. The purpose of her speech was to promote birth control and to show that women had control over childbearing. Her speech was empowered from her own personal experiences. Before Margaret became a birth control activist she was a nurse and among one of the many children her mother had, that made her realize that something had to be done to stop all the unwanted pregnancies. Her speech was designated for the people who were pro contraceptives and supported change in birth control laws.
