Former prime minister Margaret Thatcher, in her eulogy to Ronald Reagan she compliments what Reagan has achieved in his life as the President of the United States. Thatcher’s purpose in writing the eulogy is to lionize the accomplishments that Reagan had throughout his time in office. She establishes a complimentary tone in order to show her approval and support for Reagan.
Thatcher begins her eulogy to Ronald Regan by acknowledging the type pf person that he was. “In his lifetime, Ronald Eagan was such a cheerful and invigorating presence that it was easy to forget what daunting historic tasks he set himself” (Thatcher).
