the United Kingdom is not bound by a written constitution, the President of Russia main source of power derives from the current 1993 constitution. Also the office isn't indirectly elected like the Prime Minister of UK, Russia is a presidential system and the chief executive is elected directly by the populace. The powers of the office includes execution of federal law, the responsibility of appointing federal ministers, and concluding treaties with foreign powers. The president also has powers to assemble and dismiss the federal assembly during cases of extraordinary circumstances. The office isn't relatively new it was created as a replacement for the totalitarian regime that took form under communism. First president of Russia Boris Yeltsin was part of the driving force to keep Russia together after the fall of the Soviet Union. To stop sovereignty movements in Chechnya and other regions a federalist system was created. Although not anymore a totalitarian regime Russia still very much has a powerful leader. …show more content…

Thatcher was nicknamed "The Iron Lady" that got to be related with her uncompromising governmental issues and initiative style. As Prime Minister, she executed approaches that have come to be known as Thatcherism.. Thatcher came from a middle-class background, her dad being a grocer. She was a university educated chemist who had her sight set on a political career. The Conservative party under Edward Heath won the 1970 general election, and Thatcher was hence selected to the Cabinet as Secretary of State for Education and Science.
