The Marin Headlands lies just in a few minutes from the cosmopolitan city with high buildings made of stone and glass, but the nature here is picturesque and wild. The Marin Headlands is a crown jewel of the Golden Gate National Parks. It is a hilly peninsula in the southern Marin County, California, just north of San Francisco over the Golden Gate Bridge, which connects the two peninsulas. This whole area is a part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area. For the thousands of years, the Marin Headlands area was the home to the Native American tribes of the coastal Miwok.
