Marketing
The teacher that taught us about marketing was great. He went to Wayne State University and graduated with his bachelors. Marketing is involved in everything from business, schools, sports, etc. People with marketing degrees always have job opportunities. In jobs involved with marketing people may negotiate contracts, advertising media, or products to be advertised. They may also research and plan advertising campaigns. This helps decide which media to advertise in, such as radio, television, print, online and billboards. Organizing market research studies and analyzing findings help to develop pricing strategies for products to be marketed, keeping the client’s budget balanced with the firm’s needs.
In marketing there are the four p’s which are product, price, place, and promotion. With products they are services offered to your customer, their attributes, what they do, how they differ from your competitors and what benefits they provide to the customer. For example in McDonalds they try to convince us why we should buy their food. They may talk about how good the food is, low prices, or even how healthy some of their food choices are like their salads. This is how they attract customers and those customers tell others to get the word out on why they should choose McDonalds.
Price is a huge factor in marketing. Businesses are very competitive about prices. This can determine if a customer buys from them or someone else. For example someone may go to Walmart Tire & Lube and get a price for some tires. Afterwards they may go to Autozone and receive and a cheaper offer. This can lead that person to go back and tell Walmart how they got a cheaper price and this can make Walmart lower their price because they want as many customers as possible. This creates more competition so pricing is very important in marketing.
Another important factor in marketing is the place. If you have a great location then you set yourself up for better service. Businesses with multiple locations have the edge because they have places all over that people can go to so customers will not have to go out their way to buy
