The discussion concerning mental health has increased dramatically throughout the 21st century. Along with the increase of discussion of mental health has come the increase of the stigmatization of mental illnesses. The stigma surrounding mental health has been proven to have negative effects on those seeking diagnosis and treatments which leads to one question: how does society overcome mental health stigmas? The solution is not a simple one. There are many steps and plans of actions that must be taken to solve this problem.
I plan to use the book The Mark of Shame: Stigma of Mental Illness and an Agenda for Change by Stephen P. Hinshaw to study questions for my research paper on the stigmatization of mental health. In my paper, I plan to
