Looking at the Market Trends for Toyota, one of the areas that are high on car manufacturers list is going green. “Green marketing, green products, and a green image are trends that retailers of all types continue to use, and which consumers are continuing to buy in ever increasing numbers. Nowhere is this more apparent than in the retail auto showroom where "green" options were almost non-existent five years ago, but are plentiful today (Farfan, 2013).” This is a market that Toyota currently lead. The Toyota Prius C is the top selling car in the “green” market and has two others in the top 5. This includes the Prius and the Prius Plug-in Hybrid. Emissions is also another aspect of going green. These emission procedures will continue to increase costs for Toyota since they will need to invest more money to continue to improve their emission standards. Consumers are looking for a car that will give them style and comfort along with an economic-friendly option. Globalization has resulted in a challenging automotive manufacturing environment that is changing at a rapid pace, resulting in growing competition between international and domestic car manufacturers (Esterhuizen, 2011). Toyota is a global company that produces and sells automobiles all throughout the World. In the global market, Toyota has control of it but has many of the different manufactures right at their feet. Toyota topped the charts from 2008 to 2010 before the natural disasters shut down a…
