Why is it important for us to find a new planet and why would it have to be Mars? Thinking about going to space is already a great accomplishment for humankind, and for someday to set foot on Mars and live on it would be amazing. The possibility that one day humans will be able to live on Mars is highly likely because it is the planet most like earth and soon Earth will be overpopulated, the total number of humans living on this Earth is now greater than 7 billion. This large world population size is only a very recent developement. Just around 200 years ago the world population was less than 1 billion, in just 100 years the world population increased from 1.5 to 6.1 billion (Max Roser). It will most definitely not be easy but we must have a plan in case that ever happens and Mars is perfect because we have been studying it the most and it's the plant most like Earth. …show more content…
I believe that one day humans will colonize Mars and make use of it being somewhat like Earth. Mar and Earth are very similar in terms of their day length. A day on mars last 1.03 Earth days (Fraser Cain). So humans can actually probably adapt to the day length on Mars. Although the only reason why humans will ever live on Mars would be because humans either destroyed Earth beyond repair or Earth has become too overpopulated. In today’s world the highways are often full whether it's in the morning, afternoon, even at night. Soon with more human beings coming to Earth will be impossible to go anywhere in
