Marsha P. Johnson was an African American transgender woman who was on the front lines of the Stonewall riots. She was a sex worker who struggled with identity, living on the streets, trying to make New York a better place. Police brutality, racism, and homophobia caused her to become an activist during the 60’s till her death. Having the backing of the GLBT community, other sex workers, and local drag queens she worked with. Sylvia Rivera was the main inductance and friend, they met the first day of the Stonewall riots, Sylvia being the one who throw the first bottle sparking the rebellion
