It is art converted to human language and read by people everyday. Martin Espada, author of “Why I Went to College, and “My Father as A Guitar” interprets imagery, tone, foreshadowing and figure of speech within his poems in alike and unalike ways. In his poem “My Father as A Guitar”, Martin Espada’s father has a heart disease; cardiovascular issues. He is comparing his father with a guitar.
