Martin Luther King Jr. (who was born with the name Michael King) was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up with his father and his mother and later a younger brother. He grew up in a religious family. He went to Morehouse College and graduated with a sociology degree. He married Coretta Scott and they had four kids. On August 28, 1963, King and a couple others made the March on Washington. They did it for freedom and jobs for African-American people. Almost every civil rights activist was there. They all met ant the Lincoln Memorial. That’s where he delivered his :"I have a dream" speech.
