The red, white, and blue has had those who resist laws, make the laws, and enforce the laws from the beginning of its creation. It began from the sands of York town to the flowers of Philadelphia and even further continued onto the frontier, but with people like Martin Luther King Jr. and Edward Snowden, those laws have had to change it seems at an almost insurmountable rate. Peaceful disobedience of these laws has been what has moved our national society forward, as a truly free society has only been realized as people who are honorable citizens have noticed an infringement of rights and acted upon it in a non-violent way. was himself someone who noticed an infringement of rights and saw through an affected lens that something had to be done for African Americans in our country to move it further forward into a truly equal society. Dr. King disobeyed racist laws and brought change through awareness and determination, but most importantly, he never endangered the lives of anyone except those who marched with him and those individuals were there by choice. Dr. King is the almost perfect example of how civil disobedience should be enacted and how our government should always be questioned. Civil disobedience itself was even promoted at our founding in the bill of rights, constitution, and more in order to create such a government. But such an action must remain peaceful, and must never endanger the lives of anyone no matter their beliefs or characteristics. This is due to the fact that violence leads to anarchy and anarchy creates societal disorder, which could destroy the very culture one hopes to change.
