On the sad day of July 24, 1862, our 8th President of the United States died because of bronchial asthma and heart failure. He died at Lindenwald Estate in Kinderhook. Martin was 79 years old when this tragedy happened. He will be forever missed by his family and friends.

Martin Van Buren was born on December 5, 1782. He was the child of Maria Hoes and Abraham Buren. He was also a loving father and husband.

In Martin’s early life he became a successful lawyer and started his own practice. Soon after that he married his cousin Hannah, who was his childhood sweetheart. Together they had four sons that they loved very much. Martin is now able to join his wife who died of tuberculosis 12 years after they married. He will always be remembered
