The Ox-Bow Incident was set in Nevada in 1885 with a western frontier theme. As the movie starts you get a feeling of masculinity. Cowboys riding horses and drinking in saloons. Two guys are drinking in the saloon and soon start a fight and one of the guys in the fight goes outside to throw up by the horses. Another guy rides up on a horse stating that Kinkaid, an Irishman, was shot in the head and was dead. The sheriff was out at kinkaids house tending to things. A posse soon assembles at the saloon and is being told to spend the night and start in the morning. The posse ignores the warnings and goes out looking for the rustlers that took kinkaid's cattle.
