I personally think it more socially acceptable for men to assume roles that have been defined as feminine, because I see men defining a woman's role in the house way to often. This has also been a factor in my relationship at home, because when I complain about him not cleaning up behind himself he claims "that is a woman's job." Those comments tend frustrate me quite quickly so in return I will fire off something to effect of "well men are supposed to provide and take care of his family." Both comments are very sexist because all house work, bills, time with the kids, etc should be equally split among both partners in a household to prevent the assignment of roles. I think I can also sometimes assign the roles of masculinity vs femininity when talking about my son. When talking about my son I am totally against my son getting his nails and toes painted and also playing in dresses or skirts. I have had many run ins with his daycare, because in their eyes he just "imitating his mother" and I believe that still goes against my values and morals as his mother. When talking about change in the society I think of Hilary Clinton running for president as this has always been a male dominated field. I believe her courage to do so was out of this world, because she was the first woman to ever do so. I personally think men are ridiculed more for being in-tune with their emotions and showing their emotions. I am a firm believe that crying is good for the soul no matter if you are male or female. I think that women standing up for equal rights will help today's kids will have less of an insight or opinion on whats for women vs whats for men. Overall great discussion and great use of your
