In an interview conducted by Time, McCarthy states, “I do believe sadly it's going to take some diseases coming back to realize that we need to change and develop vaccines that are safe.” In that statement McCarthy is trying to argue that vaccinations are unsafe and potentially cause autism. McCarthy’s whole argument is based on that vaccinations cause autism because of the viruses and other things that are in them. However, McCarthy’s argument lacks scientific evidence. She has no direct evidence that proves the link between autism and vaccines. In my opinion, McCarthy uses an emotional appeal in order to make people believe that vaccinations cause autism.
