McDonalds

McDonald’s is the world's largest chain of hamburger fast food restaurant, serving around 68 million customers daily in 119 countries. Headquartered in the United States, the company began in 1940 as a barbecue restaurant operated by the eponymous Richard and Maurice McDonald, in 1948 they reorganized their business as a hamburger stand using production line principles. Businessman Ray Kroc joined the company as a franchise agent in 1955. He purchased the chain from the McDonalds brothers and made the company a worldwide success.

Strengths

* It has a strong global presence and is considered as a market leader in the international markets. * They own an active children’s charity by the name “The Ronald McDonald House”. * Their menu is very affordable and they have many items to choose from. * It was the first to provide the customers with nutrition facts. * They are considered as being THE fast food restaurant to go to. * Amazingly quick service and being open 24hours a day 7 days a week. * Putting a lot of celebrities in their commercials to attract more people to buy their product.

* It uses advertising that mostly targets children. * Their menu is not very healthy and contains big amounts of sodium. * It has yet to accomplish going on the trend of organic food. * Not a big menu for their vegetarian costumers.
