I think that girls typically take their weight and appearance more seriously than guys. I think that media has a big part in that because a girl can think that they have to look like the models on the covers to the popular magazines. This can also be the case with men, because they too feel pressured about their weight based off the weights of celebrities. Woman wish to be more slender than men, and this is based off the fact of how they appeal to others around them. Self confidence is also with the idea of weight because women will only feel as if they’re are self confident, if they find their body weight at a sufficient number. I mean I worried about my weight because of the fact that I wrestled in high school, and because I was set to wrestle in a specific weight class. I also think the influence of social media is also a reason for the importance of the “perfect” body and appearance. Once you scroll on Twitter and see the picture of the person with the body you so desire, than you may become depressed because if the fact that your body doesn't look like the so called “perfect” body you saw on social media. I guess you could consider that a possible source of motivation. I think more importantly a great body image helps you feel greater about yourself on the inside. I do also agree with the idea of discrimination about weight. I think the media is also to take partial blame. Media comes off with a disliking of overweight people, and I think people in today's society are so quick to judge based on appearance alone. People make assumptions of a person before they even take the chance to even get to know them on a personal level. Follow this advice most learned in middle school: Don’t judge a book by its
