What type of reader is it targeting?
The target audience for Cosmopolitan is working & middle classed women aged 18-29.
How do you know this?
I know this because most of the advertisements in this magazine are related to fashion aimed at the above age group because of the people in the advertisements and the items included.

How does the reader interact with the magazine?
The mode of address of Cosmopolitan is informal it speaks to the audience as if it where its friend by speaking in a positive and informal tone which instantly engages its audience.
The woman on the front cover is celebrity Fergie her body language and facial expressions imply that she is having a good time with a big smile on her face which is very important as it is the main story in the magazine so it has to engage the readers eye while its on shelf and promote its self to be picked the clothes she is wearing also corresponds to the theme of the magazine.

There is a variety of typefaces on the front of the cover and some words within a headline will be in a different typeface, one headline is shown in italics. I think they have used a variety of typefaces to separate each headline because as soon we look at the cover there is about 6 headlines grabbing our attention they have also related the colour of the typeface to match the model’s clothing in this case they have a yellow heading when the model is wearing a yellow top so a the graphics keep the same colour scheme flowing throughout the cover

Does the cover look similar to other magazines?
I would say the cover does look very similar to other women’s magazines because they all seem to have an attractive young woman on the front followed by the same colours. A prime
