The mode of address of Cosmopolitan is informal it speaks to the audience as if it where its friend by speaking in a positive and informal tone which instantly engages its audience.
The woman on the front cover is celebrity Fergie her body language and facial expressions imply that she is having a good time with a big smile on her face which is very important as it is the main story in the magazine so it has to engage the readers eye while its on shelf and promote its self to be picked the clothes she is wearing also corresponds to the theme of the magazine.

Does the cover look similar to other magazines?
I would say the cover does look very similar to other women’s magazines because they all seem to have an attractive young woman on the front followed by the same colours. A prime
