The essence of life is development. Throughout time developments are made to simplify and expand the quality of life. Any sensible human can recognize the importance of advances weither it be fire, electricity, pictures, phones, computers, media etc. Without these, the way of life as we know today would not have even been possible. Unfortunately, everything comes with consequences, some good and some bad. For example, fire is an amazing development, allowing for warmth in the winter and so much more when used properly but when used neurotically has caused the destruction of houses, forest, and lives. We see the biggest development of this in WWI when the government purposefully developed such media for their own people and for their enemies. These drawings of cartoons and sayings such as “Uncle Sam Needs You” made our people even more intrigued in the pursuit of war. Propaganda was a part of media that developed a lot of attention and some was not all good. After reading the motivational words that the propaganda shown and the encouraging gestures, many Americans felt enthused and ready to defend their country, but this was just another way to inform Americans about the war they had in front of them. Many Propaganda adds were used to distill fear or guilt in people’s eyes. Those who felt guilt and either joined the war or provided help in supporting it rather than joining on their own terms. Others took the propaganda with fear causing them to cringe at the thought of any battle being fought on their soil or any thought of bombs that could potentially destroy their home. As for our Enemies, our government developed propaganda that made them fear the American power and the potential wreckage that could come along with a war against the U.S. (propaganda: Media in War Politics, Stephen
