Marijuana comes from the plant Cannabis sativa and is used as an illegal drug. In 2700 BCE, marijuana was used in China and India and then spread worldwide to treat pain, seizure, muscle spasms, and nausea. In 2000 BCE Egyptians used marijuana to treat sore eyes. In 200 CE, the Chinese used marijuana as an aesthetic. In twelfth-century Africa, marijuana was used to treat snakebites and malaria. In the eighteenth century, the United States used it to treat sexually transmitted diseases. It was also used in the nineteenth century to improve appetite, sexual interest, and mental disorders. Marijuana itself is evolving and will continue to evolve for years to come. People use marijuana for medical use or some use it just to smoke it and get high. Depending on the state you live in, you can possibly only use it for fun. Does this need to change? There are arguments between federal laws, state laws, and how to make medicinal marijuana legal in a state.
Since many states are arguing that the federal law is unclear about marijuana, Michigan issued an act called the MMMA in 2008. MMMA stands for Michigan Medical Marijuana Act, which allows the medical use of marijuana for certain conditions or if someone is showing certain symptoms. The act shows the current evidence that medical marijuana is useful for certain chronic conditions, such as HIV and explains it by giving the effects of medicinal marijuana in the statement issued
