The impact of Medicare on the healthcare system has been one of a positive impact in my opinion, in that it has been beneficial to the older population of those over age 65 and also those of a younger age with certain disabilities. It has removed the barriers that held back the older population from being able to afford and receive the necessary medical care and treatments they needed. It is one of the largest health insurance programs in the world. Medicare has had a positive impact on our healthcare systems because it gives the underprivileged communities a system of physicians to be able to practice in those areas where doctors wouldn’t be able to afford to normally practice there.
