Megamind was a movie ahead of its time. The titular character, Megamind, fails time and time again as he does his best to thwart the all-powerful Metro Man, who happens to be in love with the same heroine as Megamind. It’s very Days-of-Our-Lives-esque.
When he finally conquers (or, supposedly conquers) the Metro Man, Megamind is a supervillain unchecked. But, once he conquers everything, there’s really no purpose in his life.
I was going to write this essay from the point of view of a would-be supervillain: someone who runs amok micromanaging the way the world is run.
