Madison Park Family-Student Community Building Events – 3/28/2014

In summary, the entire school sponsors three(3) events to orient and include families, while the Freshman Cluster sponsors several events to engage students in a variety of ways.

1. The entire school offers Previews (November, December and January) for incoming families to get acquainted with Madison Park and help them decide whether or not they want to attend.

2. The Principals' office sends out a Parent Letter in August to welcome and orient families.

3. The entire school also offers two (2) Open Houses in which families can meet teachers and discuss recently released grades. These happen just before Thanksgiving and around Valentines day, just as grades are released.

The Freshman Cluster also sponsors multiple events.

1. The Freshman Cluster offers a Welcome Session in May to involve families entering that area of the school as they begin.

2. The Freshman Cluster reaches out to at-risk students by sponsoring two Parents Nights in which parents dine with teachers, staff and administrators. There are many various types of supports offered at these meetings for these students. There will be two before the end of the year.

3. April 17 there will be a Summer Job Fair in which Summer jobs will be outlined and facilitated for 9th grade students.

4. May 15 there will be a College and Career Day for the Freshman Cluster.
