There is five types of meningitis: Bacterial, Parasitic, Viral, Fungal, and Chronic. Bacterial meningitis is a relatively rare infectious disease, which inflames delicate protective membranes called meninges. Meninges covers the brain and spinal cord, and when infection happens it is usually by infections caused by fluid that surrounds the meninges. Meningitis is a serious disease that needs immediate attention; if not treated as soon as possible that you may have complications with brain functionality and also can lead to death. Viral meningitis is a disease caused by viruses like Enteroviruses, Arboviruses, herpes simplex viruses, and HIV. Fungal meningitis isn’t contagious and it isn’t transmitted to person to person. A common fungal group for fungal meningitis is Cryptococcal and this infects people who have immune troubles; called immune deficiencies, for example people with aids. This type of meningitis can be a deadly one if it is not treated early enough with any antifungal medications. If you tend to wait than it takes about 2 weeks or more to develop chronic meningitis. In 2014 vaccines for group B of Neisseria meningitides was licensed in the United States; which was a three dose vaccine. In 2015 the CDC recommends that people of ages sixteen to twenty-three be vaccinated routinely with group B Neisseria
