Not everyone has the opportunity to experience living in different countries for long periods of time. Those that had the chance will agree that, even if both countries are very close to each other, there is, usually, a vast number of differences between them. When one compares living in Mexico and living in the US, one will encounter some similarities. Subjects like voting age or the overall organization of the government are the main points they have in common. Obviously, being two different countries, they are also prone to differences in subjects like culture, law enforcement, and education.
Cultural differences are one of the biggest points of contrast between countries. Everyday topics, like music or literature, might not be seen as big differences; however, there is, in fact, a significant variation in those topics between countries. Regarding musical taste in the US, pop music seems to be predominant among young adults and teenagers. Along with that, the US has a high rate of readers of all ages. This is, most certainly, its way to deal with the lack of aid given by the government to those that do not have the resources to pursue a degree. Also, the scholarship and grant opportunities in Mexico are scarcer than in the US. Since there are less scholarships offered, they often have higher requirements and, consequently, they are more difficult to obtain. Regarding the quality of Mexican education, one might often hear a number of complaints about it. Even Mexicans agree that there is a lack of quality in some parts of the country compared to others. I have experienced both educational systems and, while the US is better in overall grades, Mexico shows more emphasis in the development of problem solving
