Michael Brown, an unarmed black teenager, was shot and killed on August 9th, 2014, by Darren Wilson, a white police officer, in Ferguson, a suburb of St. Louis in Missouri. In the days since Michael Brown’s death, Ferguson has been rocked by protests, some of which have turned violent. On Saturday, August 16, 2014, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency and imposed a curfew on Ferguson, closing the streets from midnight to 5am. Most of residents in Ferguson are black people. This shooting happened that made the black community feeling down and being frightened. They stood up to protest for Black Justice and the victim’s family. In my opinion, it actually was cruel when the police officer was fired to kill the black teenager who was unarmed with total twelfth times. I do not know how guilty he was, but he was an unarmed and the police officer was not allowed to shoot him multiple times like that. If Brown sinned, let the law punish …show more content…
Brown was stopped because he suspected involved a theft in convenience store while he was walking with his friend on the street. At that time, Brown was not convicted of being a thief because there was no evidence convicting him yet. The police just suspected him. Brown was scared when stopped by the police, he had a struggle briefly with the police officer when he tried to explain, and then he was shot in the arm. After being shot, Brown was so frightened and he ran away, the police chased after him and shot him more. Then Brown stopped and raised his arms to surrender. But the police continued to shoot him in the front when Brown turned around with two hands in the air. The last shootings ended Brown's life. In my opinion, the police officer would be allowed to shoot the suspected people when they raised their hands to surrender. This point made me feel that police officer who lacked of humanity and not respected the human
