A young man named Michael Jordan was born on February 17, 1963 in Brooklyn, New York. But fifteen years later him and his family moved to Wilmington, North Carolina in 1978. Once they got settled into their new home he started his high school years at Laney High School. During his high school basketball career he got cut from the varsity in his freshman year of high school so he became the starting point guard for the JV team, but then when he got taller he played varsity for his high school in his sophomore year. When he graduated high school he got a basketball scholarship to the University of North Carolina and once he got there that was just the beginning of is road to stardom. Michael was the fourth child of James and Deloris Jordan. He played baseball at the age of twelve, and he so good at the sport to where he got "Dixie Youth Player of the Year." While he was growing up he became a person who loved the game of basketball but also had a passion for baseball too. Also he was a hard working person and was dedicated to anything he did. Overall, he is a person who is all about family, athletics, staying focused, and progressing each day.

What made him so good at basketball? There are many things he did to make himself the player he was when he played. Like for example when he was in college all he did was concentrate on basketball so he could get better. Another way how is that determination taught how no to be afraid to try. There's one more he said is that obstacles don't have to stop you, if you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it.
