Our idea of belonging and affinity is a result of the choices that we make. We feel a sense of embracing wherever we choose to belong. The poet, peter skrzynecki, clearly depicts the challenges of belonging and the confusion and regret which can come from from a lack of connection in his poems Feliks Skrzynecki and 10 Mary St. similarly bla bla demonstrates how she doesn’t belong to afgan. both composers deploy a personal voice, realistic experiences and they use poetic and visual technique to communcicate their messages about the challenges and experinces of belonging when individuals are different from those around them.
