Miley Ray Cyrus is an actress and a singer, born in November 23, 1992. She began his career at a very young age acting on some television series, movies and eventually becoming a singer. In 2004, she became the most important character of the Disney show, Hannah Montana. This show was about a girl who hide his fame to become a normal girl. In 2006, she released her first Hannah Montana album. Two sociological concepts that we can apply to Miley Cyrus are gender roles and sexism. Gender role is the behavior expected of someone who holds a particular status role set. Are the roles attached to each sex. Sexism is the belief that one sex is innately superior to the other. At the beginning of her career she was an inspiration and role model to a lot of young girls. Later on, she began to damage her reputation. Her life, violating mores and gender roles, began in 2008. At birth, people are identified with specific roles in society. As time pass, people start making decisions that would eventually alternates their behavior. Famous have a bigger role in society than men and woman. Since some of them are view as an inspiration, they are supposed to behave in a way that does not harm their reputation. As mentioned before, Miley was not having any kind of problem with her behavior in society. She was a role model for little girls. As she grows up, her behavior in society began to change. She starts making decisions that did not help her in her career. As she began posting inadequate photos on social media and performing sexually in videos and show, people start criticizing her. Gender roles are very important in society since it basically shapes our society and our points of view.
