Reaction to Film Miss Representation
I am not interested in documentary films, so I rarely see this kind of film. Miss Representation is one of few documentary films which I have never seen. This film is about the influences of media on people, especially women.
Miss Representation is set in the US, but the film is true to most of the countries, where the media has a strong effect on young people. On average, an American spend ten hour and forty five minutes for media. According to the statistics, the numbers of TV news, articles about women is less than 20% of articles about men. In fact, a lot of people see women on movies, TV shows, magazines, who are always in good shape, attractive, and charming, as the standards for beauty, and criteria to look forward to. However, a lot of people do not know that these images are edited carefully before publishing. A variety of interviews were undertaken with many people from politicians, media makers, artists, to students brought me a deeper look inside the effects of media on people. I realized that since childhood, the girls are unconsciously taught by media that have to be beautiful in the eyes of the boys. Conversely, boys also are guided judging girls through their beauties. That explain for the fact that women are always under pressure

Considering animation genre in nearly 60 years, there are only 13 heroine. The reason explains for these issues is most of the directors are men, and woman directors hardly find the stand in the film industry. Thus, films implicitly declared value of a woman is only measured by physical beauty, attractiveness and sexual function. When these things are no more, women are lose their value. Meanwhile, the men, watching a lot of pictures of the sexy supermodels on televisions, magazines, will assess the woman in real life a lot tougher.
