The word misunderstood in plain English means, I hear your words and I see your lips move,but I just do not get it. Messiah is anointed one, expected deliver. As you read Mark you can easily understand how Jesus would have become frustrated with the people. Mark 1:14, Jesus enters Galilee preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God and then 1:27, they question his authority to command evil spirits from a person. 2:5 - 11, Jesus forgave the sins of a man who had palsy. The crowd had spoke of how Jesus could rightly forgive someone sins, but when he cured the man of palsy, they were fine with that. 2:16, how could the Messiah sit down to eat with publicans and sinners? He was here to save the sick not that healthy. When Jesus would speak in parables, such as the sower in the field, was his intention to simplify his teachings to the uneducated masses or to mystify the masses. 4:11. King Herod was even unsure of who this Jesus was, he suspected it was John the Baptists back from the dead. 6:16 After feeding the 5000, who had come to hear him speak, " and he said unto them, how was it that you do not understand?" After many miracles and wonders people's hearts are hardened against him. Why? My impression is that so many prophets had come before him and preached of the coming of the Messiah that when it finally happened they could not take it at face value. Even after his death God had to get the help of Paul to go into the Gentile world to spread the word of the good
