“What’s your glory?” Have a Little Faith showcases Mitch Albom’s accidental search for glory, Henry Covington’s new found glory, and Rabbi Albert Lewis’ teachings of glory. This glory is shown through the human condition and the idea that faith overcomes oneself regardless of religion. The human condition is the collection of qualities that make people humane. These qualities are, but are not limited to mortality, sociability, despair, joy, and compassion. To elaborate, the idea that faith is greater than oneself regardless of religion means that a love for God and a yearning to do good can come about regardless of someone’s religious beliefs. First of all, Henry is a devout Christian, a pastor to be exact, while Mitch is a non-practicing Jew trying to navigate through the world of faith. Both come together regardless of this, to repair the roof of Henry’s church, proving that faith overcomes oneself regardless of religion . Faith overcomes one’s self in the movie in another way, because Henry was a selfish man in the past. He was a drug dealer who was motivated by money and material alone. Faith helped him to overcome his lifestyle of only pleasing himself. Henry has a life changing moment when he prays to God and promises to change his life if God saves him. God saves Henry and helps him to realize faith is greater than him. Lastly, when Mitch acquires about Rabbi’s stance on different faiths, the Rabbi responds that religion is like a tree, there are many branches. Meaning that a person is a child of God, if they believe in God and do kind works, regardless of the
