Mr. Gregoris’ period four mixed class fellowship assignment throughout the entire first semester encouraged me to join and continue participating in school and community activities. The fellowship assignment was handed out to the whole fourth period class in room 314 at Brebeuf College School, 211 Steeles Ave E, North York, ON M2M 3Y6 by Mr. Gregoris at the start of the course. I was at first confused as to why I had received culminating assignment so early in the semesters, however once Mr. Gregoris explained that it was a semester-long assignment in which we volunteer in the school or community with our peers and recount our experiences each month on the monthly reflection sheet. Teachers and students would bring in any articles of clothing, other than underwear, and after school at 3:00 PM the clothing drive members would meet at Brebeuf College School in Mr. Chin You’s room, collect the clothes, organize them according to type of clothes (shirts, pants, jackets, etc.), and then transport them to the gym storage where they were being held. Ms. Deveci runs the activity, which is why I joined it since last year she made her law class that I was in help out, and I had a good time, so I came back to help out again. All the clothes collected were donated to the St Vincent de Paul Society. This year over 3000 clothes were donated by the student body at Brebeuf, which is quite the accomplishment. Charity is an important part of any community, as the Catechism of the Catholic Church reminds us, "If I . . . have not charity," says the Apostle, "I am nothing." Whatever my privilege, service, or even virtue, "if I . . . have not charity, I gain nothing." Charity is superior to all the virtues.
