Robert F. Kennedy’s speech on Martin Luther King is very compelling and calming. It helps you understand why people can not be filled with hatred toward a certain race based on the actions of one man. In his speech he helps spread his message b using ethos, pathos, and logos. He also uses other rhetorical devices like flashbacks and allusions to give the reader a better understanding of the message he is trying to convey. He makes his speech sound smoother by using good vocabulary and sentence structure to make it better.

In Robert F. Kennedy’s speech he uses ethos pathos and logos to connect to the author. In the speech he says “In this difficult day, in this difficult time for the United States, it's perhaps well to ask what kind of a nation we are and what direction we want to move in. For those of you who are black -- considering the evidence evidently is that there were white people who were responsible -- you can be filled with bitterness, and with hatred, and a desire for revenge.
We can move in that direction as a country, in greater polarization -- black people amongst blacks, and white amongst whites, filled with hatred toward one another.” (Kennedy) this uses

Kennedy’s speech he uses rhetorical devices to improve his speech. In the article he says “ I can only say that I feel in my own heart the same kind of feeling. I had a member of my family killed, but he was killed by a white man.”(Kennedy) This uses a flashback by tying in a previous event in his life to relate to what he was talking about. In the speech Robert F. Kennedy refers to a quote from a poet called Aeschylus. This uses allusion because he is making a reference to a poem to give a better understanding of the message he is trying to convey. In the speech he used a tone that was calm and bitter. He used this tone to show his sadness of the death of Martin Luther King and he was calm to make sure that the crowd was calm during this time were they could be angry and act
