When someone says the word hero, what comes into mind? Probably a superhero. But, a hero is not really a new word. Did you know that they had heroes back when there was greek gods. Well if you don’t, let me name a few there is Hercules, Orpheus, and Perseus. What do you consider a hero today? I consider a hero a person who is brave, selfless, courageous.
My hero is Bill Gates because he is very selfless. Did you know that he has already donated more than 28 billion dollars overall to multiple foundations. He helps millions of people everyday. He also inspires millions of people everyday. He is brave because not a lot of people would give billions of dollars away. He gives the money to foundations cause they need it to help people who don’t

Heroes back then became a hero by going to tartarus in the underworld. Only a few have made it but, many have tried. The most well known people for going to the underworld are Theseus, Hercules, Orpheus, and Odysseus. That is not all of them though, they are just more of the well known.
In comparison a hero is someone who does something shocking, inspiring, and, heartwarming in my opinion. In contrast though a greek hero and a modern day hero are completely different. A greek hero has to go to the underworld, and a modern day hero, well everyone has their own opinion of a modern day hero. The word hero is completely different from the greek hero. A greek hero was someone who had courage, bravery, and, was selfless.
In conclusion Bill Gates is my hero because he inspires me to work hard like him so, I can get a lot of money and donate it to charities and foundations. Like I said though everyone has their own hero or expectations for someone to be a hero. Back then most likely to be a hero you had to go the underworld and come back out alive and not dead.
