Media Analysis Families are changing all over the world and there has been a lot of transition from the traditional modern families. A family basic unit in society consists of blood related family members that are living together. However, the definition of family is not the same in today’s society because now there are several variations in family relations. An example of different types of families is in the Tv shows, Modern Family and This Is Us.
Modern family is a show that is full of life lessons and how families interact. In this show it has three different types of families such as nuclear, stepfamily, and same sex. One family in this show is an unmarried gay couple that adopts a child together. Another family is an interracial couple

In the show they have a nuclear family, but they also have non-traditional families in the show as well. Each family had different scenarios’ in the show. For example, the interracial couple son was accepted in the family regardless of his race, unlike in the show “This is Us” the youngest son who was adopted was not accepted at first because of his race. Modern family was portrayed to be a good show that helped people understand that there are more families with similar situations as others. Modern family there is two families who are not considered traditional. One family is a gay couple that wants a child, so they adopted a girl and named her Lily. The other family is an interracial marriage and the wife is significantly younger than her husband. The younger brother Randle was African American and he would get teased by his older brother and other kids at school because he was black. In one of the scenes in the show the older brother stated the he did not want him apart of the family anymore because he was black. This was a big problem in the beginning of the show and when they were growing up. I was watching and it seems as though Randle felt left out because he was African American, he did not feel welcomed by his siblings. Although when all three of them became adults it seems as though the older brother was trying to apologize to the way he was treating his younger
