I am comparing and contrasting two different essays. One is by Caleb Allison which the title is “modern monsters”. The other essay is by Erica Evans “ The white man did it”. They are both similar, but they do have their differences too. Erica’s essay is about a serial killer named Jeffrey Dahmer, but he seems to get away with it every time. Caleb’s essay is about a couple different modern monster. Modern monsters may be considered something that we see in our head, and isn’t really anything. Although Erica’s definition and Caleb’s definition both resemble, the difference lies in the essay’s, which bears examination because of the monsters. Erica’s essay is about a serial killer who goes after people who have nothing to lose. Caleb’s essay is about a different types of monsters. Caleb thinks we make these monsters up in our head. Erica’s essay also includes racism in it too. Erica says in hers that the real modern monsters are the one’s in denial of racism. Erica is saying that we go after the one’s that have nothing else to lose. Caleb’s essay doesn't bring up racism up at all, but his has a few different modern monsters. Erica said her essay the real modern monsters are people who are in denial of racism. Erica also said in hers that some people do benefit from racism. Erica thinks that the justice system is brainwashed, and that white people get away with everything. Jeffrey Dahmer is a biased looking white man and no would ever think of him as being a serial killer, so he doesn't get caught that easy. In Caleb’s essay he said that today modern monster is mostly stuff we put in our head. This makes Erica’s and Caleb’s essay two very different. They’re also different a couple more ways also. Caleb brings up zombies in his as a modern monster. Zombies are very popular in today's society, but no one knows if they are real. Erica doesn't bring up anything about
