The word “modest” often cues the synonyms; religious, boring, conservative or any other negative associations to come to mind, however current modest fashion bloggers are breaking this stereotype through their artistic ways of showcasing their outfits and lifestyles, which could be a cause of why the trend is on the rise. This might seem surprising to those who assume that the purpose of modesty implies that a woman should hide in the background, but these fashion bloggers are now painting the trend of modest dressing in a completely new light. Thus, like everyday individuals, each modest fashion blogger's page is different and has its own personal twist, which could be the blogger’s sense of modesty or personal fashion sense whether that be girly, edgy, sleek, or chic each woman is able to convey her lifestyle and sense of fashion artistically the way she desires. Thus, in comparison to regular fashion bloggers who are comfortable showing their skin and revealing their bodies in their posts, in today’s culture this is what usually attracts attention the quickest, these modest fashion bloggers had to have a way to have their content stand out while still maintaining their personal beliefs of modesty. This may have had some of their followers question the purpose of their blogs, is a form of self-expression or just for fame and fortune? For example blogger Summer Albarcha, revealed she was on an all expense pay trip to Disneyland and used their parks as the background of her outfit photos. However, these doubts can easily be dismissed when one returns to the root of their decision to become bloggers, prior to putting themselves on this platform none of these women had any fame or influence and were just showcasing their style as a form of self-expression and to encourage young women to embrace who they are and be fashionable without compromising on their personal beliefs.
