Montag's Transformation In Fahrenheit 451

At the beginning of the novel Fahrenheit 451,we are introduced to Montag. As the main character he is a mindless human of the town. He does not ever think to ask himself about his role as one of the fireman required to burn the books in the town. The main character started to change once he meets a neighbor named Clarisse. She is smart minded and gets Montag questioning himself about his own happiness as well as why as a firefighter would you burn books. Clarisse clearly challenges Montag to think about his life. Before Clarisse leaves Montag one night, she asks him if he is happy. Normally he would not think about that question for too long but Clarisse has something special and he begins to question if he really is happy. At that time in Montag’s life, no one has ever made him think that way before.
After meeting with Clarisse, Montag’s transformation begins. He starts to realize everything is just off. On one of the

The only problem is he can’t come to understand what he is reading so he thinks he needs a teacher. Montag ends up going to an old professor named Fabor he met that knows all about books. Montag shows Fabor he has many books. The ideas that Fabor fills Montag’s life with about books it just makes his world go round. Fabor encourages him to discover more and more about books and explore the goodness in them. They end up working together to learn more about books.
By the end of the book Montag is no longer a mindless human. He asks himself questions about his role in life and he is more smart because of the decisions he has made in the past few months. No more questions about his happiness and life choices that he doesn’t have positive answers to. Montag ends up escaping the city and starts a new life. He joins a group of survivors that memorizes books. He learns that books have something unique in each and every one of them and are not what everyone says they
