Moore and Asay (2013) discuss managing family resources. Humans consume and require a considerably large amount of resources to survive including physical and personal growth. The basic needs include food, water, shelter, and clothing. Additional resources are needed to support education, community, and recreation (p. 4). These are all types of needs that I have had to balance resources to provide for myself and my family. When I manage my personal resources, my primary concern is that all my family’s basic needs of food, water, shelter, and clothing are covered. The main resource I have to provide the basic needs is an income from my fiancés job. When my first son was born, I decided to be a stay at home mom. This dramatically changed our money resource from a two income household to only one income.
