The problem of evil is that it contradicts certain ideologies that are fundamental characteristic of God. The ideas that that God is all-powerful and all loving is hard to accept when there is so much evil in the world. Non-believers tend to point out that if God is all loving and all-powerful why does he let evil exist. Sadly some even go as far as saying since evil exist that it proves there is no God. The fact is God gave humans free will, with that free will humans have time and time again choose to let evil come into this world. (Elwell p 1186-85)

People often wonder bad things happen to good people if there is such an all-loving god. The philosophical problem of moral evil points out that if a God that is omniscient, omnipotent and benevolent exist then evil should not exist, since a God like that wouldn’t allow it. The argument against this from a theological view is this, humans were given free will and humans decided to chose wrong instead of right. Ultimately the responsibility of evil it falls on the shoulder of the human race, not God. People often look for answer when horrible natural disaster happens or when someone they know is diagnosed with a horrible disease. These events fall under the natural evil categories, which according the bible is a direct consequence from moral sin. The philosophical problem of natural evil states that if god is all-powerful and all knowing then he should have created a perfect world. (Philosophy of Religion) Thus natural evil tends to make a case against a perfect God and a divine being altogether. (Elwell 412) (Philosophy of
