The Most Dangerous Game The two themes of “The Most Dangerous Game” by Richard Connell are Murder and insanity. A man named Rainsford falls off his yacht an swims to an island. He meets a man named General Zaroff who lives on the island. He learns that Zaroff is a hunter like himself. He later learns that Zaroff hunts humans and wants him to hunt with him. Rainsford refuses and ends up being hunted. He survives all three nights and later kills Zaroff in his house. Murder is definitely a theme of this story. General Zaroff murders innocent people and calls it hunting. It is obvious that Zaroff is a murderer. I will even argue that he is a serial killer. He enjoys killing people
