Motifs in The Great Gatsby (essay c) Color in this story is a huge part as he has many different uses for them. They are a crucial role as they are subtle but all throughout the novel. Fitzgerald uses motifs in the story to symbolize the events with a connection to our everyday lives. Subtle things such as the car color the color of the light ect.
There are yellows and golds in our story, which we're thinking has something to do with money? possibly the authentic, traditional, money not this new currency with dollar bills but , real gold. Gatsby's party, where the turkeys are "bewitched to dark gold," and Jordan's "slender golden arms" (Gatsby 3.19), and Daisy the "golden girl"
